Lightroom won't let me import images.

Up until two days ago, I didn't have any trouble importing images into Lightroom. Now when I put my memory card into my laptop and try to import from my memory card as I have been doing, the images I want to import are greyed out and I can't t select them. My images open fine in finder and Adobe Bridge. I've tried uploading the images to my laptop first then tried to import them but that didn't help, I found an article that said I should reset my preferences but that didn't help. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom, that also didn't help. Can anyone help me solve my problem so that I can import images into Lightroom again?

Greyed out images usually mean that LR thinks that they are already imported and the option to not import duplicates is set.

Can you post a (full) screen capture of the import screen showing all the settings as well?

What is the exact version you are using as well as your OS?

I am using Lightroom CC 2015. I just opened the file handling section and unchecked Don't import Suspected Duplicates and it sovled the problem. I am new to using Lightroom and didn't know that was an option. Thank you for your help !!!

Be careful and untick this option only when you know exactly what you do - you may need to re-think your process.

You definitely do not want to import the same photos a second time.

If they are already imported, you don't want to import them again.  You'll get a mess that will be hard to clean up.
