Actually, I just went through this process in the last two days. It's very simple to take care of the task. All you have to do is go to your Adobe account  and manage the account. Then you can deactivate a device. Here are the instructions on how to do it:

Creative Cloud "Activation limit reached" or "Sign-in failed" error

This will work for Lightroom 6 as well.
