Wanted: A way to omit text upon reaching a breakpoint

I've been developing a little site that apes the look of an old 8-bit computer. I have my elements mostly sorted out, however, when the page scales down per a mobile user, the directory style - which looks whimsical on desktop or tablet - is an incoherent mess.

Is it possible to omit certain text when a user is at a particular breakpoint? If that is not possible, I'd like to find an easy(ish) way to resize the text when a user is at a certain breakpoint.

Ah. Yes. I knew about that one. But I was thinking of particular text within a particular text box. That's probably expecting too much though.

But you can resize a "particular text within a particular text box". What should be the problem?
