Hi, I have CS6 and have used it with no issue for severalyears.  Suddenly, when I create a new file, the files are HUGE.  Ihave just created a 6 inch x 3 inch 300 dpi blank piece of “paper” and it is4.63 MB.  There is nothing on the page except white. This is a new problem and I haven’t changed any settingsthat I am aware of to have caused this.  I uninstalled and reinstalledphotoshop and still have the same issue.  I am working in RGB, 8bits/channel. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thank you –  Nancy

That sounds correct.

6 x 300 x 3 x 300 = 1620000 pixels.  In 8 bit we have 3 bytes per pixel so that gives 4860000 bytes. There are 1024 bytes in a KB and 1024 kb in a M byte so that = 4.63 MB
