Using Acrobat PRO DC2015 (Also problem occurs on Acrobat Standard 9)

We're downloading a PDF document and highlighting a single, small section on page 5 of the multi-page document. After I save and re-open the document, every page now has the highlighting in the location of the page, but now the highlighting is missing from the page where I initially marked it. The strange thing is 1 out of 4 times the highlighting is saved correctly, but I'm following the same editing and saving techniques each time.

There is nothing that would explain this behavior besides either a bug in Acrobat, or a corrupt PDF file. Without seeing the file that triggers the problem, it's impossible to say what's going on with this annotation. Would you able to share a file that demonstrates the problem?

You can print your file to another pdf file. On Edge,

- Choose Print

- Select printer: Save as Pdf-

- Select Pages: All

- then Save save the file with a new name.

There will be no such strange error when highlighting the new pdf file.

Is your Acrobat up to date? What is your OS? Does this only happen with one specific pdf? if so, the pdf may have some corruption, as Karl suggests. Try saving it as PDF/X-1a, (File> Save-as-other> Press-ready pdf> Settings) which sometimes clears out problems.

Luke, this is a 5 year old post, bought to life by AH. Phan for some reason.
