why won't Adobe Pro XI use the signature appearance I've set up to look at a specific PDF when called to do so in my script?

I create an appearance to use a PDF file and call that appearance in my script but it not the correct appearance when I run the script. 

ppklite.login("Ann*10*30*1993", "/C/Users/aameyer/Documents/Digital_ID/twthalmann/ToddWThalmann.pfx");

f.signatureSign(ppklite,{password: "Ann*10*30*1993", appearance: "Todd_W_Thalmann_MO_20171231"});

ppklite.logout();

should get this.
