My signature disappeared. I created a new one but it is not in the list to choose from. How do I fix this?

I'm using Acrobat Pro X. The list of signatures is blank. I went through the process to create a new one, but when I did, I could see my original signature there. I created a new one just the same. Still, there are no signatures to choose from. How do I get a signature into a document? How do I even get them in the list!
