Banding in LR when using a camera profile

Hello folks

I brought this up but this time I have a sample photo. Camera Calibration / profile is "Adobe Standard". When I use that, the shadows are on the dark side, so I checked Camera Profile > Camera Neutral. Shadows are better, but when I export the photos to high quality jpg, I get banding. Please see the comparison between 2 versions of the same photo especially the oval of light in the centre. On the left, the photo was edited using Camera Neutral. On the right, Adobe Standard. No other changes. The image on the right looks like the thumbnail and what it looked like when the photo was taken. Why am I getting banding?banding.jpeg

Thanks

John

I see the banding I the center oval.

I have to admit I would have expected the "adobe standard" to show any banding first.

I am guessing that any major help on this will require us to have the original raw file to play with.

Which camera?

Which exact version of Lightroom?

Mac or Windows? What version?

sorry, I forgot to mention the camera:

nikon D600

14bit color depth (I can't help thinking this has something to do with it)

RAW images

OS X, 10.12.3

LR 2015.8 release

Sorry for the late reply... for some reason my my reply was stuck as a draft!
