Hi there.
I need to install an old CS6-Version on my MacBook running on Sierra. The (very unfriendliy + nasty) support staff told me, it is not possible.
On my MacPro it is running without any problems. But I installed it before updating to Sierra.
Is there any possibilty to get it on my MacBook?
Thank you!
Best
Antje
Hi Bob.
We now solved the problem while installing a virtual machine on the MacBook with an old operating system and the CS6.
Not very elegant, but it's working.
But thank you for your effort!

Completely unsupported. You can try but it’s nothing short of a crapshoot.
What issues are you having when trying to install?

Disappointing that the support staff were unfriendly. CS6 is unsupported, and they should have told you this clearly and politely, before politely refusing to answer your question.

Yes, he told me. But only after he insulted me and mocked about me.
Hm. Bad experience.
But thank you all for your polite answers!

Hi Antje,
oh boy!
You were insulted?
That is very disappointing.
Should never happen.
Hm.
Sooner or later I also will need a virtual machine for my older versions of InDesign or CS software in general.
Still some of my customers are not on the cloud and I need to support e.g. InDesign CS4, CS5, CS5.5 and CS6.
Can you tell us what virtual machine you are using?
What OS version is used for that?
Were you able to update CS6 to the latest available bug fix version?
E.g. On my German OSX 10.10.5 I am running CS6 version 8.1.0 without flaw.
Thank you very much,
Uwe

Hi Uwe.
Funny. Two Germans talk English
In my case, I just need the CS6 for only 1 client-date tomorrow. So we have choosen the cheapest version with the free trial-version of VirtualBox.
But – if there is a permanent need in the future – we would buy the licence from Parallels Desktop. We think, this will work more proper.

Yes, funny…
Thank you for the info, Antje!
