Import/place multiple files to specific locations in a document?

Hi,

I have a document that requires a number of txt files to be placed in it each and every day.  Currently the way I do it is to have blank frames throughout the document and I then drag and drop the corrosponding txt file onto the right one.  Wouldn't be so bad if it was just one but there are *a lot*!

So, I was wondering if there was a script that could help.

In my head, I'm thinking I need to somehow define the blank frames on the page, i.e. "Frame_01" and then tell the file - "File_01.txt" - to be placed in that frame.

There are a few things that I imagine would help with the creation of a script:

  • The files needing to be placed always have the same filename.
  • They are always in the same folder location on the network.
  • They always contain the same amount of content - the numbers within them just change slightly.

Any ideas?  Can it even be done?

Cheers.

Hi,

one idea without using a script:

Place and link a text file.

If you have an update just replace the text file with new contents and update the link.

Regards,
Uwe
