Circle scale?

I am a big noob, but can some one help me?

How to get that little square with an black circle and transparrent corners??

That's a track matte.  You need two layers:  the matte itself above, and the layer using it below.

You set the lower layer to the proper track matte in the modes column drop down menu.  You may have to enable its visibility using the button in the lower left.  I think it's disabled by default.
