After Effects CC2017 only opens a box with an "!".

This is what opens up and I renamed everything in %appdata% and documents but nothing changed...

I am on a Windos 8 machine. I have reinstalled this a couple of times and it is the trial version.

You're aware that the AE tryout version is good for only 7 days, right?  How long have you been using it?

I have seen this issue a few times on these forums (mostly with Windows 10 though) - not always with the trial version. Contact Adobe support. And then PLEASE let us know what they say.
