Hello guys, I need help.

I just subscribed to Adobe Photography plan and installed LR and photoshop.

I imported a catalog that I used to work on another version of LR.

However, for some pictures I get ! mark and a msg 'Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo'.

So I checked my LR version and here it is :

Lightroom version:  CC 2015 [1014445]

License: Creative Cloud

Operating system: Windows 8.1 Home Premium Edition

Version: 6.3 [9600]

Updates option under Help menu is grayed out so I can't click and I don't see any updates on adobe creative cloud.

I doubt that's the latest version.

Also, I'm using Windows 10, not Windows 8 as it says up there.

I think Photoshop is the latest version.

Adobe Photoshop Version: 2017.0.1 20161130.r.29 2016/11/30:23:00:00 CL 1099099  x64

I need your help!!

Many thanks in advance.

If you mean the Panasonic DMC-G7, it requires version 2015.1 or later.

My guess is that you can import jpgs (can be imported by any version of LR) but not raw files.

Click on Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 in the link I gave you, and it will expand. The downloads are the same for LR6 and LR CC,

What camera do the problematic images come from? They may require a later version of Lightroom.

You can update manually to the latest version (2015.8) from here: Install Photoshop Lightroom

Thanks for your comment.

All my pictures are taken with one same camera Panasonic G7.

I don't think that's the problem here since some files are opening well and some are not.

I checked the link but I thought LR CC is a higher version than 6.xx??

Have you installed the Creative Cloud desktop application to manage your subscription. Log into your account from the CC desktop app, and check to see if Lightroom has an update available. This is the easiest way to manage your CC apps, and know that you are running the most current versions.
