I'm using InDesign CC 2014 on a Mac running El Capitan.
I know you can place an image file in several locations within both the same document or separate documents and if you update the original, the placed images will change. Is there a way to create text that behaves the same way? I have an address that I need to pace in 28 different documents but I'll need to change it in a month or so. I'd like to be able to update an original and have it change in every placed instance.
Is that possible?
Thanks,
Lloyd
If the text is in its own frame, you can use the Content Collector and place it as a Link in more than one place. When you change the parent, just update the links.

jane-e,
Thanks for the reply. I discovered that tool AFTER I created the discussion. I think I'm going to create a master file with all the text and use each piece as I need to.
Thanks again.
Lloyd

Great workflow idea—that way you will always know where the "parent" is!
