Hi Lina,
the only chance—that I know of—to show video with PDFs reliably is Adobe Reader for Desktop or Acrobat Pro/DC.
Internally this is done by using Flash based technology ( the player ). With other PDF readers it's not sure how or if Flash players are supported at all.
Is this an InDesign related question?
Maybe you ask again in a Microsoft related forum?
Why PDF as publishing format?
If you start from InDesign you could publish your document with the Publish Online feature so it can be seen with a web browser or you could export a fixed layout EPUB.

Uwe

Just for all reading this:
Lina posted a link to a downloadable PDF with the video in this reply:
Re: Why won't my video play?
Lina,
I downloaded your PDF and it will play in Adobe Reader.
Not very smooth, but it will play. It needs some time to load to the player skin.
Not so with my Mac OSX Preview app. Not even the poster image is available. Just a white page.
So whoever likes to play the video should use Adobe Reader Desktop.

Uwe
