I have pasted in text from a similar InDesign document with the right paragraph format.

When pasted, it adds very wide line spacing. How can I change it back to normal?

  1. I have tried all 3 methods of pasting.
  2. I have changed the line spacing tool (of course)
  3. I have tried the pararaph format tool.

Nothing worked. Please help! 🙂

Are you using a baseline grid?

Check on paragraph panel if "align to baseline grid" is activated:

I'm glad you found the solution... However as an addition, if I might suggest, I would start trying to use paragraph styles when importing/pasting text as they can apply multiple changes such as this in one fell swoop...
