Is there a way to break a multipage .pdf into individual svg files using Illustrator?

Hi all

I'm trying to extract several 100 vector graphics files from several 800+ page pdfs and I'm trying to find a way of doing it at least partly automatically. Can someone tell me if there is a way of automating the extraction of all pdf pages into individual numbered .svg files?

Or if there is some other smarter way of doing this I would love to know

As an example one of the publications is the UNESCO Science Report http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0023/002354/235406e.pdf
