White image after export from Lightroom to Photoshop

I am using both the current lightroom and Photoshop 2017 cc, and running them on a new Macbook pro. Every once in a while when I export an image to Photoshop from Lightroom to sharpen and then save for web, all I get is a blank white image in Photoshop. When this happens I have to close the program and then relaunch it in order to get the image on screen. I also have noticed that quite often Photoshop stops responding when I close it and have to force quit. Has anyone else experienced these problems?
