Having trouble importing photos in lightroom

I've attempted to import photos recently i have in a folder in my desktop, but no pictures load. Not from the selected folder nor from any other folder. There's no error pop up, they simply don't load and i've already imported many pictures prior to this. I'm not sure why this happens but i would love an answer on how to fix this. Thanks

What operating system? What version of Lightroom? Did this just started happening?

I'm using the 2015 version on my Windows 10 HP laptop. Yeah it started happening recently. The only way i can import images is through the mobile app and syncing them on the desktop app.
