The size depends on the typeface, but there are multiple variables involved. If you want to keep it simple, an easy starting point it to remember that for optimal readability, aim for 40–60 characters per line for your body text. Typical body copy is 9-12 points, but can be bigger for a brochure. Typically headings will be 4 points larger with each head. Your captions might be 2 points smaller.

This varies! But start here and see what looks good—also what fits.
