I just bought 2 new books from Kobo books.
I loaded them on Adobe Digital Editions and transferred them onto my Kobo.
However on my kobo, I cannot open the books its says that I am not authorized to view them. But both my Kobo and computer say they are authorized under the exact same email address (the same it has always been authorized under) and I tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing both, unplugging and replugging my kobo, to no avail.
Someone please help as I refuse to waste the $30 I spent buying these books.

Can you open them in ADE ? Are you able to read them on the PC ?

Yes I can open the books on ADE and read them. When transferred to my Kobo, instead of showing a thumbnail of the book's cover I see a black rectangle and when I click it says "Oops! This document couldn't be opened. This document is protected by AD Rights Management (DRM) and is not currently authorized for use with your Adobe ID. Please sign-in with the authorized Adobe ID and try again."

I also have this issue and as it seems nobody here cares to resolve it (or doesn't know how)!

I have the problem also. Cannot figure out anything to let me read the ADE books right now. It worked just fine a month ago!!!

I also have the problem. I have spent in excess of 15 hours trying to resolve the problem with KOBO agents, Adobe agents and librarians who trouble shoot ereaders with no success. This morning I spent 1.5 hours with a KOBO agent and he finally said he could not help me and said I must resolve the problem with Adobe. I chatted with Adobe people and they told me to go to the forum for help. Judging by this thread there is no one who can resolve the issue. Adobe does not know how to fix the problem and are ignoring it.

I finally got my old Kobo Glo to work. I went into Kobo settings and de-authorized it. Then I went on my laptop and downloaded the newest Adobe Digital Editions. It asked if I wanted books on an old version to be put in the new version and I said yes. Then I closed ADE. Plugged the Kobo into my computer, opened ADE, told it to authorize the Kobe. I still couldn't read old library books, even that had not expired, BUT I WAS ABLE to download and read new books. I did not check all the purchased books I have, but the ones I did check were opening.
Good Luck Everyone!!

I don't have the option to use a different ereader, and although I can read them online, I can't drag my desktop with me on the subway train. I just got off the line with the ADE techs and they told me to come here, but obviously the problem is new enough that there is no solution. Maybe the issue will be fixed in a newer version of ADE?? and in the meantime...............we wait
