Importing AI Sequence into AE

Is there a function in AE CS6 where you can import (or export from AI) a sequence of layers from AI and have it come into AE in a  sequence of one keyframe after another - sort of - already animated? I know you can work this way between Flash & Ai - but can you do it in AE. I see the Import command / checkbox for an AI sequence - but I haven't been able to work in the way it does for Flash.

Thanks!

It's a pretty easy process.

Import your layered AI file as a composition into AE.

In that comp, trim all the layers to the length you want by:

- select all

- go to the point you want the layers to trim to

- hit option-right bracket to trim all the layers to that point

- right click: keyframe assistant: sequence layers.

This will put them all back to back as an animation.

Hope this helps
