Hi,

Has anybody come across this issue with InDesign CC 2017: the application opens and all the menus are working within Mac Menu Bar at the top, but the application window and the pages are not visible.

Greatly appreciate your help.

Wow. That's bizarre. With both on, Word should be hidden by InDesign.

Let's try trashing InDesign prefs:

Thank you so much. Now it shows but only when Application Bar is selected. It disappears when I click on Application Frame.

Hmmm. A screen shot may help to understand what you are looking for, but generally the controls are in the Window menu. Turning on the Application frame will turn on the Application bar automatically. Keep both selected.

If it still doesn't look right:

Window > Workspace > Essentials (or your favorite workspace)

Window > Workspace > Reset Essentials  (or your favorite workspace)

Still not OK? Pls share a screen shot:

Turning both of them on makes the whole thing disappear again.

Yeah, it is bizarre.

Will try trashing the preferences later. Now I will continue to use it the frame off until I am done with this project. I need the preferences for now.

Many thanks.

I totally understand.

It would be helpful if you could cycle back to the thread to let us know if/when/how you solve this.

Finally got around to it.

I have followed the link and this is what it says:

"My preferred method is to CLOSE INDESIGN and do a “manual” prefs replacement, which consists of finding and renaming the two files which make up the preference set: InDesign Defaults and InDesign SavedData. BOTH of these files should be replaced at the same time. You can delete them, but renaming or moving them will give you the opportunity to copy them back in the event that new prefs doesn’t cure your issue. When you restart ID, the program will look for these two files, and when they are not found, a new default set will be written."

Macintosh: Hard Drive/Users/<USER>/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/<Version #>/<Language>/

I renamed the InDesign Defaults to InDesign Defaults2.

After restarting, InDesign set the new defaults, and it works.

Thanks a lot.
