Auto Import Settings broken in latest update in OS X

After the latest update, my Auto Import Settings dialog will not appear. I've tested this one two different machines with two different licensing, both running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. I also tested on another machine running Windows 10 and it seems to work just fine. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom and that did not fix anything. Auto Import still works, but it retains the last settings I had before the update broke the dialog box. This is really hindering my workflow in the field so I hope there is a way to resolve this issue.

This bug was introduced in CC 2015.8 and has been acknowledged by Adobe: Lightroom 2015.8: Cannot access Auto Import Settings form File menu | Photoshop Family Customer Comm... . Please add your me-too vote and details of your issue, to make it more likely Adobe will prioritize a fix.
