In the sdk, if I create a new item, it is generally placed under the export, library etc menus.

can you create a new custom menu item ... that say sits to the right of the Help menu ...

the only examples I have see always seem to sit under the LrExportMenuItems or library???  eg

LrExportMenuItems = {

    title = "menu 1",

    file = "menu1.lua",

    enabledWhen = "photosSelected",

    },

The SDK only lets you create menu items under File > Plug-in Extras, Library > Plug-in Extras, Help > Plug-in Extras.  For more discussion about this, please post in the SDK forum: Lightroom SDK
