Hi there,

we recently started redesigning the online help of our product and started wondering, if there is any chance to print several topics of a webhelp at once? Like generating some kind of a PDF file of the desired topics. Like marking the topics you would like to print and then store them as a complete PDF file?

I hope somebody can help me.

Thank you in advance!

Rebecca

Hi there

Actually, that's the method we often suggest to folks to use for printing.

Basically, you would use Conditional Build Tags to exclude all the topics except the ones you want included. Then generate Printed Documentation to create that PDF. Then you would add that PDF back into your project and establish a link that would allow your end user to open it from inside the output. At that point they could then print!

Cheers... Rick

I think she's thinking about the user of the help being able to dynamically select topics for printing and have either a PDF of them all (the selected topics) created and able to be stored, or printed directly. So I think the answer to that is no.
