Photoshop lagging until I change tools

Hello,

I have just updated to Ps 2017 and it is extremely slow. My main problem is not being able to edit the pixels that have already been created on the artboard, but the layers icons don't update as well, until I switch tools.

I am not able to get even a remotely good preview of what I am doing, cannot paste, and such.

I have tried enabling and disabling the GUI, my drivers are updated, and I have deleted my preferences, but nothing works.

Any help is appreciated.

I tried many if not all of these suggestions and they did not work. Ps still doesn't update until i switch tools.

Did you try reinstalling Photoshop?
