Adobe Application Updater won't close or update?

I'm trying to restart my computer so I can download InDesign, but the program won't close nor would it update anything. I'll click on 'Update' or 'Update All', but nothing would happen. I've tried numerous times to (1) shut down my computer, (2) restart my computer, and (3) close the application. Nothing works. This is frustrating because I have a project due in four days that I need InDesign to make and I won't be able to access the school computers. I have a Mac with (I'm pretty sure this is right) 10.02 (or something along those lines). Any tips?

I got it working now. All I needed to do was a hard reset. And it works just fine with the current os system I have. No problems besides that one. Sometimes my computer doesn't always respond to certain commands, but I guess it's because I enter too many at a time. Thanks for trying to help

I'm not entirely sure if that's the exact system, but the next update would be 10.0.03. The thing is, I'm unable to actually update to the new thing because Application Updater is preventing my computer to restart, which is required to update it.
