adobe.JPGHi. Does anyone know why this is happening? It's usually when I zoom out below 50% and happens a lot.

There are currently issues with JPEGs in AE and other apps due to a bug in the new underlying core library. Convert your picture to a different image format.

If hardware acceleration and GPU drivers are not the issue, then it's what Mylenium said. In the history of After Effects there have often been problems with certain image formats and video codecs that caused problems decoding the image data that are most easily solved by simply converting the problematic source material to a different format.

Hi bnkpro,

Sorry to see you had some trouble with your footage. Did you ever solve this issue? How so? Did you transcode to a different format? Let us know.

Thanks,
Kevin

Set your composition's resolution to Auto (and/or set it manually to match your zoom level - that is, at 50% zoom, set the resolution to 1/2 and at 25% zoom, set your resolution to quarter).

Alternatively, if you go into your preferences and disable the "Hardware accelerate...panels" option, that should fix it too.

Ok, No this has not resolved. I have checked for driver updates and the problem is still happening. It is also happening with footage so the problem isn't just with JPEGs. Changing the resolution to auto seems to have helped but it's not really something you should have to do right?

Does changing that preference I mentioned help?
