I'm getting the same issue. It seems to have something to do with an addon/extension. I don't have the error if I hold shift while launching the program.

see with my situation, it doesn't happen consistently... so i couldn't really tell if that would help it or not. I'm thinking it has something to do with editing the photo outside of lightroom and then editing it in bridge with the metadata. But like i said, it's random enough that I can't rememebr off the of my head if that is consistent with each case I've had it happen to me.
