Well I went against my better judgment and upgraded to CC 2017. Now when I open my project most clips no longer have audio. When I try to replace the clip I get an instant crash with this...

Premiere Pro has encountered an error.

[/Tanqueray/releases/2016.10/shared/adobe/MediaCore/Backend/Src/Component/ComponentFactory.ccp-70]

Huh???? I'm 3 days into this disaster. Can't edit. Can't deliver projects. Costing me MONEY!

Hi ohanafilms,

I apologize for all this trouble.

Now when I open my project most clips no longer have audio.

We have reported this issue to the Engineering Team, as a workaround please clear the media cache & relaunch your project.

Known issues in Premiere Pro CC 2017

FAQ: How to clean media cache files?

When I try to replace the clip I get an instant crash with this...

Premiere Pro has encountered an error.

[/Tanqueray/releases/2016.10/shared/adobe/MediaCore/Backend/Src/Component/ComponentFactory .ccp-70]

What is the source of your media files and where exactly those files are located?

What are all 3rd party effects that you are using in this project?

Hopefully, cleaning the media cache on your mac will fix your other issue as well.

No audio opening PC project on Mac

Please try the above steps and let us know the status for both of your issues.

Thanks,

Kulpreet Singh

Out of the blue I'm getting the same error. Audio not displaying and when adding a new clip the program crashes.
I tried the solutions posted in this thread but the problem still persists.

Please fix this ASAP as I and others are not able to any any work what so ever!

UPDATE:

I copied all files - including cache folders - to another identical harddisk and so far I have had no problems. Note, the harddisk I copied from is working perfectly fine - I am still using it for After Effects - but the change of harddisk somehow solved the problem, for now at least.
