Spellcheck in Indesign CS5 marks words followed by question- or exclamation mark

I am using the spellcheck of InDesign CS5 with a text in German. The results are ok, except when the last word in a sentence is followed by a question- or exclamation mark. When replacing this word with the same one from the proposed list of words, the failure marking still occurs.

Any ideas, what is happening there?

Regards, Volker

The paragraph style is set to German, and the results of the document spellcheck are in general correct, except for those described cases.
