JPG PNG Sequences Problem

I noticed that in the new Version of After Effects, Image Sequences are not updated correctly. If I rerender an image sequence and it becomes longer, a click on "Reload Footage" doesn't do the job anymore. I always have to "Replace Footage" and relink the media, to make After Effects notice, that the clip now is actually longer. Is this supposed to stay like that?

Nope, that's a bug. There's a fix or a workaround, but I don't know it.
