We automatically create PDf files with a Broad Cast Agent of Business Objects (about 150 PDFs per day). Directly after the PDF is created it is send automatically by mail. We like to protect those PDFs for editing. Therefore we can add a password to each PDF but therefore we have to open each PDF by hand. Does anyone know a solution for adding a password automatically to the PDF?

Do you have Acrobat?

Do you want to add the same security policy (including the same password) to each file?

Yes we have Acrobat?

The same security policy (including password) would be fine?

If you have Acrobat Pro then you can do it using an Action. However, this will have to be triggered manually. Acrobat is not built to be a part of an automated workflow. To do that would require a stand-alone application.

Thank you Try67.

We were already afraid of this.

Manually triggering things would be a bad solution.

We had hoped for a solution in a automatic system.

I can hardly believe we are the only one who are creating PDFs and sending them automatically and would to do this with some editing security.

So we are searching further.

You're not. I personally developed very similar tools to what you described for my customers, including command-line tools which can be easily integrated into a larger workflow.

If you're interested in something like that feel free to contact me privately at try6767 at gmail.com and we'll discuss it further.
