New computer and new student of one month to LR and wanting it set up just right for me. I created my 1st Catalogue (and only) using my Ext HD 'Pictures' folder location which shows up as a folder in the 2nd section called Folder. I now want to do my work through my Pictures folder on 'C drive'/This PC so they can be synced with OneDrive and the ExtHD. I've tried going to 'add folder' but it's pulling less than 10 of all my photos (total 80,000) with don't import duplicates checked. Should I create a 2nd Catalogue, add it under add folder, or....???...check or uncheck duplicates.... ) I shoot +-100 photos a week and learning to cull... wink). Thanks for direction to my goal.
LR is only pulling up 1-5 photos when there are 33,000?
I don't know what "pulling up" means? Do you mean Importing? If you mean importing, then this is not the solution. Importing is not going to solve this problem.
If you have the photos on both drives, in Lightroom, you want to right-click on a parent folder on your external HD and then select Update Folder Location and then select the corresponding parent folder on the C drive, as shown in Figure 8.

You'd have to move the photos to the C: drive. The best method is to use the photos using the method described in "Part 2 — Updating Folder Location" of this document: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders

I read the article and have done several tutorials. I don't understand how missing files will do what i want. My photos are all on both the ExHD AND C already. I am thinking that the issue may be it's reading duplicates as it adds my C Drive Pictures folder to the already added Pictures folder from my hard drive.
Can I add a 'folder' to the section under FOLDER that is in the section below the Catalogue on the right panel? Or add a New Catalogue.

If your photos are already on the C: drive, then the section I pointed to in that document will explain exactly how to tell LR to use the files on the C: drive. (And by the way, there is no missing files in this explanation at all. If you are reading about missing files, you are reading the wrong part of the document).

No, neither of these will solve the problem. The solution is what I explained.

Thanks for you help..I'm trying, though unsuccessfully. I have my Pictures folder on C, have read and re-read the article over and over.. am so confused. LR is only pulling up 1-5 photos when there are 33,000? I am repeating the same mistake and don't know what to change. My LR file tree shows my original HD section and above it is the C-drive with the Pictures folder under it. I've tried right-click Pictures and all the options: Import, Update and Synchronize folder options available on right-click. It does not pull my folders or pictures (except the 5..???)
