Spiral in Photosho

Hello guys!

I`m a beginner on my way of a 3D design. It`s my first attemts and I would like to create a 3D model of spiral like on the picture beneath. And I can`t find suitable tutorials for this actions (they more like a 2D spirals). I can create the spiral with opacity trick (the second picture), but this one like a play with surface and opacity. And this will not be like a dimensional line above. Maybe do you have some ideas for this.

Photoshop 3D is very useful, and is great when combining 3D elements with 2D elements. However - manipulation of meshes is not its strong point. You really need to go into a full 3D program for this (e.g. Blender).
