My InDesign has updated to the 2017 version, but when I started it up, although I got the starting page, the program just hangs in loading mode, and I cannot access any of the tabs up the top or, it seems, work with files that I have opened. I cannot find any answer to this so far, and cannot reload a previous version of the program as it does not appear to have any way to do so. I need it to be operating correctly to work on a formatting project coming up.

The first thing to try is restoring your preferences:
Trash, Replace, Reset, or Restore the application Preferences

Hi Steve, I'm having the same issue since the latest upgrade to InDesign. I've restored my preferences and turned off all my fonts. Any ideas on what's going on? Thanks, Peter

My computer has since died and I have replaced with a new one. I was then able to reinstall InDesign and use without any issue. So, if I had uninstalled it originally, perhaps a new install would have worked.
