export PDf to excel but date format changed

Using Acrobat X Pro. 

Export a list of customer with date of account opened.  After converted to Excel, the date of account opened format changed.  Originally is in MM/DD/YYYY format in PDF. After conversion, when the DD is less than ten, the MM and DD will interchanged.  For example, originally is Feb, 4, 2016 02/04/2016, after conversion, it becomes 04/02/2016.

Is there a way to get around.  Without this, it is difficult to do a sorting by the date of account opened.

Apologies for the delayed response.

Please check the settings applied to the Excel at your end, since there is no way to make the changes in the date format that you are referring to in Acrobat.
