Hello.

APE 13 has suddenly stopped progressing past the welcome screen.  I can select my projects but trying to open one or select a new project just causes the purple bar to annotate for a few minutes then stop.

I read this thread:

Re: Premiere Elements 13 Not Opening

And:

changed my drivers
run as admin

but with no success.  I am unable to reset my preferences because I can't get into the program.

Please help - I'm in the middle of a project that needs to be finished soon.

Thanks for your help.  I reinstalled APE 13 and it appears to now be working, though I've not yet closed it down and tried to reopen it.

nVidia released a series of drivers for their cards that 'broke" a number of programs, including Premiere Elements.

Go to the nVidia site and get the latest driver for your card. Don't trust Windows to do it.

I've tried two of the three latest drivers, which haven't made a difference:

378.92     March 20, 2017

378.66     February 14, 2017

I don't know what else to recommend. But this problem was rampant a couple of months ago -- and it only occurred on computers with nVidia graphics cards. Most of it went away when nVidia started updating the drivers in February.

I don't know why it hasn't resolved your issue.
