When I create an Indesign document with animation, interactivity, sound etc and publish it online its work fine in browser but the same file when I convert it into swf and if there is sound too animation stops. But if i remove sound and convert it into swf all the links and animation work.

SWF is an obsolete format so don't use it unless you have a very specific reason for using it. Try FXL ePub instead or the in5 plugin: Ajar Productions: in5 - Home

Hi Derek

I installed the trial version of in5 and it looks good. Will further explore it.

Regarding online published document, one more thing, when I create some online published document it works well on computers but when I try to see this document on mobile phone or ipad etc sound do not work. Any idea why this happens.

Thanks and regards

Hi Mohammad,

unfortunately I have no idea why your sound is not working on an iPad or mobile phone.
What are the technical specs of the phone and the iPad? iOS version? Viewer version?

Could we see into this?
Can you provide a link to your published online project so that we could test it?

Also: I would give In5 a chance.
Maybe there is a difference.

If that would not help I would report a bug for the Publish Online feature.

Together with a link to a sample InDesign package zipped that you could provide with your Dropbox account or a similar service. Use this link to report it:

Wishform - Adobe InDesign

Uwe

Hi Laubender

I have published online following two documents

With sound

https://indd.adobe.com/view/ae756550-4600-4158-8568-0d2f5f46f4b9

Without sound

https://indd.adobe.com/view/6240c03a-368a-4c2e-8790-6a4dfe694117

These two are same and only difference is one contains sound while the other is without sound.

These are working fine on computers but the only problem is when I visit the link containing sound on cell phone or iPad there is no sound and only animations appear.

Same as when I export this InDesign file containing sound as SWF file all animation stops which appears after sound.

Your help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

I can provide you the working InDesign files if you wants.

Waiting anxiously for your reply

Thanks and regards

You can not use any SWF asset and expect it to play on mobile devices. Looks like you are using a .swf file named ZeroClipboard.swf

Hi Rob,

I'm not sure about what you said.

I blocked Flash from my desktop browser (Firefox) and can hear the sound.

Here a codeview from Firefox Firebug:

I think the sound should play also on a mobile device. Cannot test right now.

Uwe

I think you are right, but it's not playing on my iPad mini

I was looking at the no sound version, which is loading a .SWF file. A first step would be to make sure there are no .swf assets placed in the InDesign document.

Hi Mohammad,

your case is clear. Rob tested your Publish Online doc with his iPad mini.
And he confirmed that the sound is not working.

Why? We simply don't know.
Maybe a bug?

I would write a bug report on that. Package all the files, zip the package, upload it to Dropbox or a similar service and provide the download link with the report. Report here:

I think I am not able to describe my issue properly.

Lets try again to explain my problem. just forget swf file format for the time being.

I have published a doc online using InDesign CC and this document contains only one JPG file and text (no swf file there), this online doc working perfectly on computers, whoever receive the link is able to see this published online document on his/her computer with everything such as links, animations, sounds etc working perfectly.

Now the problem: When I try to visit the same published online document on cell phone everything works but only sound do not play.

I just wants this document to run on mobile phones smoothly as it is running on computers.

Hope I have successfully explained my problem..

HI Mohammad,

I have looked for answers myself and I can't find any.

I am new to the indesign online publish feature.

Have the latest version of cc 2017 programs, run on windows 7.

My document has sound (Mp3 Files) and they work perfectly on desktops and laptops, but NO SOUND on an mobile device.

I reported the bug and still heard heard nothing.

Does anyone have any answers? AM I missing a setting?

Should a new thread be started?

Help appreciated.

Thanks

David

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

I even reported the bug and I have not heard a peep.

Not here or contacted in anyway.

Seems like no one is listening.

Wish we both had an answer. People keep asking me why no sound on my publication on the ipads and mobile devices.

Sorry Mohammad
