When I use reverse geocoding with Lightroom 6.9 for a European country, or for Tel Aviv in Israel, reverse geocoding works. When I use it for towns in Palestine (like Ramallah) it is not working.

I observe the same thing.

It appears this limitation is a Google policy (Google provides the mapping for LR):

Status: Won't Fix (Intended Behavior)

In disputed areas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_territorial_disputes), geocoding results have no country (and sometimes no administrative_area_level_1

Has been renamed to Address Lookup, and can also be paused/accessed over the Activity center (identity plate).

Basic setting should be in Catalog settings / Metadata.

Thank you for the answer.

In identity plate, adress lookup is "on". And in Catalog settings/Metadata position is also on.

But no suggestion for address, location, etc.

Have you another idea ?

Thanks.

What is the source of the GeoData/Coordinates?

Does it show in the correct format under GPS in the metadata panel?

Source of Geodata/coordinates is Map module of LR. This coordinates appear clearly.

GPS format is as you mention.

Hmm .. then it should fill in the fields above automatically.

First, try if it helps to update to the latest 2015.9: Download Photoshop Lightroom

If not, I'd try to reset the preferences: Resetting Preferences in Lightroom CC/6

I'm out of ideas .. if you have reset preferences and everything is activated it should just populate the fields after you drag and drop an image from the filmstrip to the map, given that you have an active internet connection.

Last thing to try: remove and reinstall LR: remove - reboot - install 6.0 - reboot - install 6.9 update.

Thank you for your help.

Last question : what do you think about plugin "Metadat Wrangler" from Jeffrey Friedl ?

Best regards.

Hello,

to give a conclusion to our discussion,

the answer to the problem I have is not technical ... but political !!!!!  Segregation ?

When I use reverse geocoding with Lightroom 6.9 for a European country, or for Tel Aviv in Israel, reverse geocoding works.

When I use it for towns in Palestine (like Ramallah) it is not working.

Thanks for your help.

As a practical matter, Adobe probably has little influence over this Google policy -- Google generally does what it wants to do regardless of customer desires. But you could file a bug report in the official Adobe feedback forum: Photoshop Lightroom | Photoshop Family Customer Community . (This forum is primarily user-to-user, in which Adobe product developers rarely participate.)
