Lightroom CC Aspect Ratio Crop?

I just noticed that several of the .jpgs I exported from Lightroom, after doing a 2:3 aspect ratio crop, ended up with a white line at the bottom. This is probably because I didn't get the crop quite right using the guidelines. Is there anyway to have the image snap to the aspect ratio guidelines?

I also noticed that when cropping the image there's a gray box with a 2x3 in it that either appears on the left edge of the image or the top, but never both. What exactly is that for and how is a user able to determine when they've set the proper aspect ratio?

Thanks!

Looks OK.

Do you mind posting a screen capture of an exported image showing the issue?

Export grabs the cropped size of the image and exports exactly this -  without looking at the aspect ratio.

What if you don't resize?

Can you post a screen capture of your export settings (specially the file and size settings section)?

What is your exact version of LR and your OS?

Sure. I'm using Lightroom CC v2015.9. Here's a screen capture of the export settings.

Also, if I've already adjusted the image in Lightroom and it's set to 72 ppi, what’s the purpose of the Output Sharpening section?

Don't resize–yep, I think that did it. Thanks!

Why would unchecking resize in export prevent a white white area in the exported photo.  If the crop doesn't have a white area the export shouldn't either.

This was just about to find out if the export module (resize, convert) could be the cause since LR sometimes shows strange behaviors.

Agree.    It does this WAY too often

You will get these white areas if you do certain Lens Corrections and/or Transforms and do not check "Constrain to Image" in the crop tool and "Constrain Crop" in the Lens Correction and Transform Panels.  If you checkmark these three you will never get the white areas.
