anybody know if there is an update in the make for LR to support GH5 RAW files?

You need Lightroom 6.9/Lightroom CC 2015.9. These are free updates if you have purchased Lightroom 6 or subscribed to Lightroom CC 2015. If you have earlier versions of Lightroom, you'll have to purchase the upgrade, or use the free Adobe DNG Converter.
