Where do I find "Insert Footnote" in free trial IDCC? It does not appear in the Type tool.

Thanks for help!

Hi,

Try right clicking and then selecting the option as shown below.

You do see the insert footnote option in the type menu above?

Also do check this page on footnotes creation in InDesign Create footnotes in InDesign

Yes, I checked all the resources. They all say "Select 'Insert Footnote" But that does not appear.

I'm working on a Mac and generally one does "command-click" or "control-click" instead of right click. The only option that comes up on the Type tool is "type on a path."

Barbara, try this:

Choose the Type tool.

If you don't already have a text frame on your page where you want the footnotes to go, Click/Drag one out.

With the Type tool still active, and the text frame selected with an active Insertion Point (blinking cursor), Right-Click/Ctrl-Click inside the text frame.

Thank you, thank you! That worked; also brought up other commands I had been looking for.

Hi,

The insert footnote comes on either right click or from the type menu (not tool). As seen in the screenshots above.

Do add your screenshots too if you dont see the insert footnote option in the type menu or on right click.
