On an iMac 21.5inch late 2013

Running macOS Sierra

Processor 2.9 GHz Intel core i5

Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1024 MB

It took LR NINE DAYS to import aperture library.

Got to play with it a little yesterday but it kept crashing. But I was able to see some photos and play around with development.

Turned computer off all night. Started it up today and it won't work. When it does load, it says "loading" as it looks for photos. Then once it loads the collections from aperture... it promptly crashes.

What can I do? This is worse than aperture was.

Hi Kartoondudez,

It seems the catalog needs to be optimized for performance. Please take a look at this article Optimize Lightroom performance and let us know if that helps.
