Another call for turning off number incrementing Application wide

I just pasted the TExt "17" into a text layer.

because there was already a layer called "17" AE named my layer "18"

PLease stop this madness!

Please give me a preference to turn it off.

If it breaks scripting or anything, let it alert me to that in that instance.

(I have got used to that from Relative Property Links having a quite low undocumented limit)

If there's anu Ex CoSA uber geeks out there who could help pme build my own version of the app to do this so I can kkep track of my footage, comps and layers using numbers like humanity has been doing since Babylonian times I would truly appreciate it.
