Cant Find Use legacy new document in preferences

I update indesign yesterday to indesign cc 2017.1 but I cant find  " Use legacy new document  " in preferences

! Any help please

It's in the General tab. You don't show the tab names on the left?

I uninstalled indesign and reinstalled it again but the nothing changes

What can I do else ?

oh god. don't tell me they removed it in the latest update...

I dont think so ... may be the problem from my indesign but i dont know what can i do !!!

it wouldn't surprise me if it was intentional, since one of the features of the latest update was 'improvements' to the new doc window.

Try restoring your InDesign preferences as described below. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't change the preferences which might be causing the problem:

Trash, Replace, Reset, or Restore the application Preferences

I reset prefernces also but the problem still here

You are in the version that was released on April 5, 2017, right?

Check About InDesign (Help Menu in Windows; InDesign Menu on a Mac) for the exact version and Build. What do you see there?

Also, if you click Print and resize the dialog box bigger, it's pretty much the same. I am loving the new templates!

Hi Romeo,

I see that you are using the Middle East/North American language feature set for InDesign. The dialog that Jane-e has mentioned is the new interface for creating  New Document which, as of now, is not available for your feature set. The preference that you have mentioned ("Use Legacy New Document Dialog") is to disable that new dialog and hence it is not visible to you.

Templates are also visible within InDesign in the new "New Document" dialog. But you can directly search InDesign templates by going to https://stock.adobe.com

and use these in InDesign.

Iam from Egypt so I must use middle east feature for typing from right to left and pages also .

But I want to tell you that new document leagcy works perfect in photoshop cc and illustrator cc 2017 which i use middle east feature in them also ... This problem is in indesign Only .

Okay, you do not have the new Start Workspace, and that is what you don't have the same options in the General tab.

It must be a bug with the ME version?

Hi Romeo,

Illustrator and Photoshop has provided the new dialog for Middle East but InDesign has yet to implement this feature for Middle east feature sets. As for now, please try out the templates directly from Adobe Stock website. You can manage the InDesign templates in CC Libraries panel by selecting Stock Templates library.

Some of the ones in the Start dialog are free. Are the same templates free for ME users? Or do they have to subscribe to Adobe Stock?
