Please advise:

(1)     What version of Acrobat?

(2)     What OS (Windows or MacOS)?

(3)     How big were the documents (size in both pages and MB)?

Thanks.

I have the same question.  Running Acrobat Pro continuous version (current) on Mac OS 10.12.  compares on several small docs worked, but anything with more than about 50 changes detected resulted in an Out of Memory error.  Running a MacPro with 12 GB of memory, running out NEVER happens on this beast.

Same problem here. Like Doug, I'm running Acrobat Pro DC on Mac OS 10.12, with 16 GB memory. I compare two complex publications monthly. Have done it for years on previous Acrobat versions. Each is 40 pages 2MB. Fails everytime with an "out of memory" error. Luckily I have a PC, so I run the compares there using Acrobat XI Pro. I need a solution Adobe!

I ran into the same problem with a very complex book PDF and seems I found a partial solution:
I tested if Acrobat Pro 11 would fare better with the file in question and it informed that the document is "too complex" to be compared as "Reports, spreadsheets, magazine layout" but comparing it as "Scanned documents, drawings and illustrations" worked.
Turns out using this setting works somewhat better in DC as well.

Acrobat DC does still seem to be slower in generating the compare file, and fails with an "out of memory" error when generating the report on a complex 191-page document (shorter page ranges works). Acrobat Pro 11 succeeds in comparing the same document without problems.

(Running Acrobat Pro DC, MacBook Pro 15inch 2016, 16GB RAM. Mac OSX 10.12.3)
