After effects 2015.1 has stopped working...

After effects keep crashing over and over.  Just opening a project and hitting space to start the render... crashes after about 5 seconds.

i7, 32GB ram, Nvidia 1080... powerful machine.

Tried clearing caches and tweaking many many settings, updating video card... I'm at a loss why it keeps crashing.

Does this happen with every project or just one project in particular?

I'm curious why your AE .exe file is on the D: drive. It usually defaults to being installed on C:
