Sony RX100V ARW files

Hi I'm Using AdobeLightroom 5.7.1. It doesn't support the relatively new Sony RX100V camera (ARW). Does anybody know when there will be an update that does? Thx Edwin, The Netherlands

There won't be an update (That is An UPDATE) to LR 5 to support that camera. You can Upgrade (That is UPGRADE) to the newer LR CC/6 version that does support that camera. Or you can use the Free DNG converter to convert the ARW files into DNG files that your older version of LR can work with.

Funny. Photo Mechanic reads the files just fine. And I don't have to pay them every month for the joys of unsupported file types!

Photo Mechanic is an Image Browser. It is not an image editor. What you are seeing is the embedded JPG image that is inside every RAW file.

Because it is not a RAW image/data editor is doesn't have to read and convert the RAW data into something you can actually view and edit.
